1. Eligibility
1.1 This competition is open only to students currently enrolled at a South African college, or university.
1.2 Entrants must be legal residents of South Africa and must have South Africa recorded as their country of residence in their YourLume account settings at the time of entry.
1.3 Employees, directors, contractors, and immediate family members of Ked-AI Tech Limited are not eligible to enter.
1.4 By entering, you confirm you meet the above eligibility requirements. YourLume reserves the right to request proof of student status before awarding the prize.
2. How to Enter
To enter the competition, participants must, during the entry period:
2.1 Follow the official YourLume Instagram account (@yourlume.io)
2.2 Repost the competition post to their Instagram story and tag @yourlume.io.
2.3 Sign up for a YourLume account via the link in @yourlume.io’s Instagram bio, at lume.ked-ai.com
2.4 Existing YourLume account holders must update or confirm South Africa as their country of residence in Account Settings during the entry period. Only entrants whose account records South Africa as their country of residence are eligible.
2.5 No purchase is necessary to enter. No fee will be charged for entry beyond the entrant's own standard data or internet costs.
3. Bonus Entries (Referral Mechanic)
3.1 Each eligible participant who completes all entry requirements in Section 2 receives one entry into the draw.
3.2 Each entrant can find a unique referral link in their YourLume account settings after signing up.
3.3 For every additional eligible person who signs up for YourLume using an entrant’s unique referral link during the entry period, the entrant receives one additional entry into the draw. A referred person is eligible only if they meet all eligibility requirements in Section 1 and complete the entry requirements in Section 2.
3.4 There is no cap on the number of bonus entries an entrant may earn.
3.5 YourLume reserves the right to disqualify any entries it reasonably believes were obtained through fraudulent signups, duplicate or fake accounts, or any other manipulation of the referral system.
4. The Draw
4.1 The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries, weighted according to the number of entries each participant has accumulated under Section 3.
4.2 The draw will be conducted using an online random-selection tool and overseen and certified by an independent accountant, registered auditor, attorney, or advocate who has no employment, ownership, or other material relationship with YourLume. The draw will be conducted in accordance with Section 36 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and its regulations.
4.3 A record of the draw, including the competition records and the independent observer's signed certification, will be retained by YourLume for a minimum of three years.
5. The Prize
5.1 The prize is R1000 (one thousand South African Rand), awarded to one winner.
5.2 The winner will be contacted directly via Instagram direct message using the Instagram username submitted at signup.
5.3 Before the prize is paid, the winner must provide proof of current student status (e.g. a valid student card or proof of university registration) and sign an acknowledgement of receipt once the prize is paid.
5.4 If the winner cannot be reached or fails to provide the required proof within 7 days of being contacted, YourLume reserves the right to select an alternate winner using the same weighted draw process.
5.5 The prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item, except at YourLume's discretion.
6. Use of Personal Information
6.1 By entering, participants consent to YourLume collecting and processing their name, Instagram username, and signup information for the purposes of administering this competition, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
6.2 Information collected for this competition will be used only to run and verify the competition and to contact the winner. It will not be added to any marketing list or used for promotional communications unless the participant separately and explicitly opts in (e.g. by checking a dedicated opt-in box on the signup or settings page).
6.3 An entrant must maintain an active YourLume account until the competition has concluded and the prize has been awarded. If an entrant deletes their account, or asks YourLume to delete information necessary to administer or verify their entry, before then, their entry and any bonus entries will be withdrawn and they will no longer be eligible to win.
6.4 Participants may request correction or deletion of their personal information. YourLume will consider and process such requests in accordance with POPIA and may retain the minimum information necessary to administer the competition, verify entries and winners, prevent fraud, and meet legal record-retention obligations.
7. General
7.1 YourLume reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who does not comply with these terms.
7.2 YourLume may cancel, suspend, or amend the competition where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law. Any material change will be communicated through reasonable notice on YourLume’s Instagram account and/or website.
7.3 This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or Meta.
7.4 These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
